My NAT instance security group needs to have the following to allow HTTPS downloads from the online repositories:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Inbound rule must allow HTTPS to from the EC2 private subnet<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Outbound rule must allow HTTPS to anywhere (towards the Internet Gateway of the public subnet)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Disable source\/destination checks on the NAT instance<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;iptables&#8221; package is used on the NAT instance to allow port forwarding<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A route entry must be added to the private subnet Route Table.
